Thursday, March 17th, at about 10:00 am, a young man paid the Oak Ridge tackle store a visit. He arrived in a white mini-van with no hub-caps and a BIG orange extension ladder attached to the top. He was wearing a blue two-tone zip up jacket and a black and white cap. He also had what appeared to be a Bluetooth earpiece in his right ear.

After wandering around the store quite a bit, he decided that he really liked the Fish 30Acre Glide Shad (retail value $89.99) that we had on display and proceeded to put the bait in his left jacket pocket before buying a cinnamon roll and leaving. Fortunately, he was kind enough to do that right in front of one of our video cameras. Unfortunately, his cap was pulled low on his head so he didn't provide us quite as good a view of his face as he could have.

Pictures of the car:

Pictures of him and the bait:

If you recognize this person, his car or even someone with a newly acquired Fish 30acre Glide Shad, please contact either:

Oak Ridge Marina (903) 878-2529
Wood County Sheriff's Office (903) 762-2201 (Refer to case number 16-02847)

As always, thanks for your assistance.

Is it common for a store to have 100 dollar baits so easily accessible for some idiot to just grab and go with it? Should be locked up in a glass cabinet.

The man shouldn't have to put everything under lock and key to keep some scum from stealing it. I like walking into Oak Ridge and being able to pick up the baits and look at them without having to ask Barry to unlock some case and let me hold it. Lowlife scums are what got us to being used to that. It's a d@#$ shame our society has come to this. What's next, we expect him to hire armed guards to walk around the store with each customer? Why don't we start punishing the bad guys instead of the victims.

Cable tv installer or possibly an insurance adjuster.

Damn shame.
Might need to move the camera so it picks up plates entering and exiting.

Calm down bass king. Reality is there are idiots in the world who rob banks, steal cars, mug people, you name it and people do it, so you have to try and prevent the idiots from doing it because if you don't, you will be the next person filing a claim and calling the cops. Do you have any prevention methods in place from people stealing from your boat? Do you leave valuables in the back of your truck at the boat ramp when you go fishing? I doubt it or it would be gone when you got back. Therefore, that's why you have to try and prevent the thieving idiots from doing it. Believe it or not, not everyone is like you or other good folks that can just pick stuff up and check it out and put it back on the shelf or buy it. Unfortunately this is the society that we live in today.

I see multiple items in his hands and none look like a cinnamon roll. Did he put those items back or take them without paying as well? Do you actually have video of him putting the bait in his pocket, none of the pictures show that he did that? Just curious since you accused him of being a theif on a public forum then I think you should post pictures of proof otherwise he could go after you for defamation of character. Not saying he did or didn't steal your bait, I just don't see any proof.

these people walk among us all day. In my older years I have gotten suspicious of everyone.
I hate that feeling, but you cant take anything for granted anymore.
