Came back from Titus county park at Bob Sandlin by the dam. Very nice place for boat launching camping,kayaking,etc. Found a beaver on the bank close to the office,where you would take your kids. It was shot with a bow and left,it wasn't there two days ago. Reported it,and we'll look into it. It will still be there tomorrow.This is why it's so hard to find a place to fish and hunt because nobody cares! I'm off my soap box now

What difference would it make whether it was killed with a bow, gun, gaffed, speared, tazered, killed with a plasma cannon, or any other means? Killing a beaver and leaving it by a ramp, or anywhere, is the act of a slob poacher, period. The point is not the means, but the act. I guess some are so eager to criticize they overlook the act all together, then criticize the law abiding concerned conservationist in an effort to boost their own ego. SMH

No their not protected,but it is illegal shoot or trap furbearing animals on any state public water or land in Texas.

I agree, but here's the kicker on that. Hunters for the homeless and for the hungry won't except Ferrell hog meat only venison. That is wrong I checked.

I agree with the beaver kill carcass thing.But when it comes to wild hogs,get a backhoe zapp them, dig a hole with your backhoe ,cover and move on.

Beavers are vermin. Ask any farmer who has had his stock ponds ruined by them.
Most farmers consider them as varmints and shoot on sight. My cousins hired a govt trapper to get rid of the ones on their place. Spotlight and 12ga 00 buck did the trick.
Now on a big lake they don't pose much of a destructive danger.
