I went to Conroe thinking I was going to catch some off the bulkheads chasing shad/spawning. I had a couple of bites and that was it. Did I miss it or am I early? Are they still in the channels?

I just went up to 1375 this morning on the east side of the bridge, south of the road. Caught shad every time I threw my net from the bank. Also got about a 2-3 lb blue! Caught him about 50 feet off bank at 8:30 this morning. Wish I could have gotten there earlier.

Poets talk about "spots of time," but it is really fishermen who experience eternity compressed into a moment. No one can tell what a spot of time is until suddenly the whole world is a fish and the fish is gone. I shall remember that son of a ***** forever. - Norman Maclean
