I just looked on Texas river data and it looks to be alittle over 5 ft high.

Half day trip yesterday, 8 am until 1 pm.

Water is up about 4-5 feet in the last 10 days. Looks alot like last year, and is fishing about the same.

Our best 5 went went about 19-20#s. Big fish was 7.23. Had another one at 5, a couple of 3's and about 10 more solid 2-3# keepers.

Bigger fish were about equal on 2 patterns. Flipping bushes with overhead cover; hay grass push ups, or thick brown viney stuff. Low percentage deal...you have to flip in the thickest stuff to get bit. But very frustrating as you can only clear about 1 out of 3. If you flip to the outside where you have a better odds, bites fall off drastically. They didn't seem very particular on baits. Big Bite Fighting Frogs and Yo Mama's and Rage Structure Bugs and Menace's all got bit. Same with colors.. Okeechobee Craw, Blue Craw and Black/Blue all worked.

Other deal was Soft Jerks and Stick worms with little or no weight. Green Pumpkin and Watermelon shades produced equally. In the openings around scattered buck brush, dead sticked. The 7 was caught doing this. Much better hook up ratio than flipping, but more small bucks.

Flat, secondary points with scattered bushes was where we concentrated. Nothing over 2#'s back in the hardwoods. I'm sure the bigger ones are there, but that was just our observation so we stayed out further most of the morning. Saw lot's of folks catching fish back there, but they all looked to be small.

Nice to see the family's on the water. The kids were out in force with spring break rolling.

It is going to be interesting this year fishing the woods if the water stays up. Some of the pine trees that were killed last year are going to start falling down.

we did pretty good on tx rigged brush hogs and tx rigged flukes the last week, in the evenings we moved to the grass and threw weightless senkos, for us fish had only made it a 1/4 to 1/2 way back in the creeks, buddy had a new PB of 8.35, caught 15 to 25 everyday

I caught a few out of the grass at mud creek last weekend... What's this cold front gonna do to the fish? I was planning on fishing the same area, probably just deeper

spending 5 days there, going up in the morning. Fishing out of Rayburn Park. Will try to post some but I really got the bug to go to TBend. Was at the bend 2 weeks ago and caught a sackful fishing with 3 teens in the boat.

we flipped buck brush and hay grass non stop for 2 days(wednesday and thursday) and ended up catching 10 fish or so. not good at all. last weekend we put 22 pounds in the boat with white spinner baits with white trailers, around the buck brush. frogs are good around the hay grass as well
