I have a MinnKota Terrova 80 (no i-pilot) trolling motor that came with the boat I bought brand new in the summer of 2013. It has been making a loud noise when it turns to the right but is quite when turning to the left. Is this normal for a Terrova or am I missing something and something wrong with it? It operates fine without problem but the loud noise is very bothersome and annoying. And it is so loud, especially while I'm fishing under a bridge, that I don't want to annoy other people fishing anywhere near me. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

No, mine sounds the same turning either direction. Is it still under warranty? Might be something like the bearings. Find a local Minn Kota repair facility and call them. They should know right off what the problem is likely to be and the cost to repair.

Thank you, Bobby. I don't even remember when it started. I didn't think it always sounded like this and didn't think that it should. I've never heard anyone else's trolling motor sound that loud. I get it checked out.
