Any of you guys ever fished Hamilton before? We are heading there next weekend and staying in a house on the northern end of the lake. Never been, but we will have access to a pontoon boat. It's not exactly a fishing rig, but I'm not going to let that stop me. I'm up for catching anything...I will have my 3 yr old daughter with me and would love to have her catch something on her buzz lightyear pole. Thanks in advance!

Yes, I have fished it for stripers. It has some really huge striped bass in it. They also stock it with hybrid striped bass.

I see a lot of people bass fishing. Lot's of piers, boats houses etc. for structure. Also, crappie seems to be good. Biggest problem there are all the pleasure boaters...lot's of them everywhere. Good luck.

The state park there has a large cabin with its own fishing dock.
Perfect for a family with kids.
Caught stripers from the dock while we were there one weekend years ago.

There is lots of grass that should be good from a pontoon boat.

It's know more for pleasure boating than fishing. However, there are some in there. Lake Ouachita is the good bass lake in the area.

Don't forget Degray. I've always been a Ouachita guy, but started hitting Degray for a few days the last few years and have been pleased.
