Thanks, guys! One of the things we love most about targeting sunfish in East Texas is all the different hybrids you will catch in just a single morning. I have no clue what mixes produce some of them, but bluegill is a part of most. The rainbow of color found in this particular body of water is impressive... Even the tiny ones are worth catching, since they make terrific largemouth and bowfin bait! wink

Would you mind sending me a PM on where you were, really want a couple Redspots for my aquarium...

Hey Fitz, I tried but got a message that you're over the "private topic" limit... Weird.

Good looking fish. I have to agree, the red one is a beautiful fish. That would look great in an aquarium.

Thanks, again, guys... and yes, it IS a full blooded red spotted sunfish. TPWD caught a bunch of them in this body of water while netting recently...

Been catching a bunch off of the Comal River in my area. The Comal is loaded with them and you can catch them year around! Small fish but very aggressive and great fighters for their size on U.L. tackle. thumb

I've been catchin' sunnies for about 55 years, Banker, but it's the first of these lil' beauties I'd ever seen. Of course, you are the guru of sunfish angling!

Super post highcountry! As for the Red Spotted there are a lot of them down here on certain rivers. I have caught them on the Comal and Guadalupe Rivers. They give a pretty good fight on a light fly for.
