I did real well on Monday before the big blow hit. 4 reds and 4 trout. All came from shallow mud and shell with some bait around. The wind caused the bays to stack up with water... almost couldn't wade the last 2 days because the water was nearly 2 feet above normal. All the water also allowed all the bait to push up into the grass and away from all the reefs. Might be a tough couple of days until the water gets back out of the bay and tides get back to normal. But...yes, there are some fish in the area. I caught mine on topwaters (one knocker spook), Rapala Sub Walk (Olive / silver), and on little johns in golden bream based on the dirty water and dark skies. opening night and bone can be real good as well this time of year if you find clear water with the wind settled.

Sounds like a long days worth of fishing was well worth it, planned on going this weekend but weather is yet to be determined for March 19th. Although spring is here seems like silver lures are the way to go to hit them trout and reds regardless of cloud cover. Thanks for the input and if I do go this weekend I'll definitely post pics!

Sounds great, and you are welcome. Silver is almost always good in clear water.
