Hi everyone. I'm headed out east to Lake Tawakoni this weekend for the first time. We are going to be staying near Arm Point Park. I only have a 16' Jon Boat with a 25 Johnson, so I don't think I'll be able to venture into the big part of the lake... have y'all been having any luck in the northern part of the lake catching catfish or sandies/hybrids? Any advice is appreciated!

 Catfish should be biting shallow on windy points/banks.

Thanks Txmedic. I have been catching shad and freezing them cut up and ready to go. Going to set out jug lines and try to catch a few on rod and reel.

No need to set jugs out deeper than 14 or 15 feet. Bring your net, shad have been shallow. You should catch some fish. Our cove on the north side is 5 feet deep and we have had blues and channels in the cove. Fresh shad is best and drum, buffalo, carp,work great on the jug if you happen across any

No reason to use frozen shad now. Your catch rate will be 1/10th of what it would be with fresh shad.

I will certainly use fresh shad if I can get them. The frozen is the back up plan.
