Does anyone know if you can eat the fish there? Looks like it connects to Mountain Creek. I always see people catching and keeping it. THANKS

Mountain Creek Lake fish has over 4 times the recommended toxicity levels. They recommend you don't eat it. Used to be illegal to even fish it. Recommend catch and release only.

Look at the blue link that says "Consumption Bans".

Theres a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot. Steven Wright

Why do people take the fish from the Dam?

FROM Joe Pool Spillway is fine. Joe Pool is not contaminated.

I believe Joe Pool feeds into Mountain Creek, not the other way around.

I've fished Joe Pool and spillway many times and ate the fish because I grew up in Grand Prairie. Having done that, we all knew to stay away from Mountain Creek Lake. Something about spills/contamination from the air base there. There is still a plane sunk with the tail up out of the water, too.

The contaminants are actually going down so they let people fish for fun now. But I still think it has like 30 or 40 years to go before "safe" again.

JP feeds into MC. But keep in mind the fish can swim upstream and up to the dam. Just saying.
