Went to the neches for a few hours. Got 12 whites mostly males and few females still with eggs. Went upstream from bridge to the powerlines. Fun time.

What were you catching them on Hookinup? I haven't used a redfin before but use the white softbaits. I may try to go in the next day or two and try it.

I caught a couple on chartreuse 3" sassy shad but, I caught most on fresh cut shad I got from the river using a cast net.

I have some redfin lures but, didn't try them.
Sometimes they need to be modified to work well.
You should consider the Rapala BX Waking Minnow which is also a top water lure & it's easier to use.
The floating mirror lures also work well as a jerk bait.

I caught some of these today.

Hookinup, What's the explanation of the picture with the fisherman directly below the spillway? I recall that the area above the road to the spillway was posted. I can't believe it is opened up now, but let me know.

That's what I remembered. Access below dams is tough all over following 911. I would hate to lose tailrace access at L. Palestine because folks kept jumping the fences on the dam. I am waiting to see who is the first to use a drone to drop a bait up against some of the dams in the restricted access areas to hook into stripers and big cats!

The bite is still going strong.
Most people are getting lots of Sandies from the creeks & river.
Get them while you can.
It ain't slowing down yet.
