Basically, right now, if you aren't catching fish, it's because you don't have a hook in the water!

The lake is bachman, and they are pretty much anywhere you wanna throw a hook. They are 12-36 INCHES from the bank. Fish PARALLEL TO THE SHORELINE!

Went back this evening, Morning fishing on shorecrest drive, at the foot of the runways, evening fish along the Denton Drive levee. Just to prove a point, that they are everywhere, and shallow, AND no more than 1-3 ft from the bank! Well, proof is in the pictures. Got 8, here are a few of them:











And the bluebonnets are starting to make some noise:

Big crappie caught last night along the rocks on Shorecrest, jig/bobber, 3 ft from bank in 2-3 ft of water. Saw one guy this evening pull a couple bass in the 6 lb. range. i lost 2 in 6-7 lb range, threw the rooster tail. Victor lost one that was probably close to 7, maybe bigger, threw a 10 inch power worm.

Its on and getting better by the day.

That is one of my all time favorite bass baits, Ledeez, but they just won't stay off my rooster tails, and these are the 1/6th oz size, as you can see, very small and light, so i see no reason to change, till they quit hitting it. Dying to try a shallow running quarter oz, crank on em. but they just won't quit hitting this!

I may have to check that out. I've fished around that bridge directly behind the Whataburger but that's about it and didn't do anything but lose lures but that was several months ago. I'm not familiar with street names but is the levee on the other side of the lake where that big "cylinder" is coming up out of the water?? I've walked around that side and usually a ton of crawfish shells on the bank. Not sure if I'm even talking the right areas as you are but I may check out that side.

That is where i fished this evening, from the rec ctr to the spillway. In the morning we fished literally at the foot of the Love Field runways, with Virgin, Southwest, and Delta roaring over our heads. Fish didn't care, they bit anyway. I doesn't matter where on the lake you fish, the bass are everywhere, and the crappie are starting to show up all over the lake as well. I caught a few right at the parking lot where the boat ramp is, in fact right on the boat ramp.

Different story today. One rt at 4 lbs., then 2 dinks. That's it. So, change tactics. Walked to creek BELOW the Bachman spillway. Between Denton Drive and Harry Hines, and found a mother lode of 7-9 inch bluegills, and found two more spots, jam packed loaded with spotted and largemouth bass! All told I caught close to if not over, 100 fish. Most eventful day. Also had 1st encounter of spring with a cottonmouth. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! FILM AT 11

I was looking for crappie on the banks not very far from Bachman today and couldn't keep the bass off of my jigs. I would drop it down and see a bass swim out and grab it. No crappie though.
