It is a great deal ! I just bought one back about a month ago for $199.99 in 9', 5wt , 4-pc . As far as the warranty the package says one yr but the people at Cabelas said if i ever break it just bring it back and they'll give me a new one .

That's awesome! Is the line floating or sinking?

How does this compare to the Orvis Encounter? Both are almost the same price right now.

How does this compare to the Orvis Encounter? Both are almost the same price right now. . Same price but regular price on the RLS is supposedly $319.00 , the Encounter $159.99 is regular price always . Personally since i have not used mine yet and i have not handled the Encounter i really cannot say what any other difference would be . I do know that the Orvis Clearwater Combo has been mentioned and is popular for the more advanced learner . Here is a god read about several good brands and names : The Best Fly Fishing Rod and Reel Combo for the Money
