Grew up fishing Richland Chambers most weekends with my grandfather Walter Johnson in the late 90s. We used to drive and stay at a man's big house on the west side of the 287 bridge. He either owned or managed a cabinet shop in Palestine, TX and had a sister named Ann. When I most recently went to RC everything was different in that area. Seems to be nothing but housing developments now. I didn't drive towards where I think his place was located, but I can't find anything similar to it on Google Maps. He had a huge 2 story house, a big shop, private boat ramp, boat covers, and even bait tanks. It wasn't a high traffic area so probably wasn't a marina. Even had 2 pet jungle cats at one point, maybe mountain lion or tiger cubs?

Anyone who may know this gentleman (or if this might be you) please send me a PM. Just trying to connect with some people from a previous chapter in my life. Had a lot of memories on that lake.

You might reach out to the OP of this thread. He used to guide on RC.

Could it be Butch T of Teague Custom Cabinets?

I sent him a message. Thank you for that tip, that post is what made me ask, idk why I didn't think to ask him first.

And I don't think so. I think the place was named Ann's Cabinet shop in Palestine.

Rhino I recall the place you are talking about, actually can remember the guys face but can't put a name to it. Terry Hawkins (aka the Richland Chambers hammer!!) lives right there. I know he is on here sometimes and may respond, I'll send him a text and if he doesn't I will shoot you a pm.

That'd be great man!

His place was at the very end of a really nice cove. Did some great crappie fishing right off the side of his concrete boat docks.
