What do you tie on when the fishing is tough and you want a bite? What do you catch more fish on then anything else?

Absolutely not. A jig imitates a crawfish or a bream really well, and those prey species exist in all the lakes you mentioned. Interestingly, soft plastics account for 232 of Texas 550 some odd ShareLunkers. Jigs account for another 100. I think jigs would be higher, but lots of folks don't like them because they hang up easily, get fewer bites(though larger) than on other baits they have more confidence in.
