This past Friday a co-worker said I looked like a needed some time away from work, normal work week for me is anywhere from 50 to 55 hours a week, and decided I would take her advice. I left around noon and headed back to the lake that so far has been pretty good to me. I did manage to upgrade my Top 5 fish for the year. I also had something happen for the first time ever. Check out the video.
If you want to jump ahead, go to about 2:30 in the video.

Top 5 Weight: 22-4 (4-15, 4-12, 4-10, 4-1, 3-14) culled a 2-14

You mean did I ever break off at the boat?

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I used to use the ones below all the time in salt water... never had a failure.

First time I ever had one fail. Literately pulled it open.

What snap? The ring on the trap that you tie to? Never had that happen and never even heard of that happening.

I have had some bad bags of Eagle Claw from Dick's where the snap loses strength, does not close, and then straightens with a snag or a fish.

. . .aaaand that's why I tell people not to cut corners. Eventually it'll cost you, usually in the most inopportune time. Say no to snap swivels, carolina keepers, etc.

That is the exact reason I don't use snap swivels.
