This past Friday a co-worker said I looked like a needed some time away from work, normal work week for me is anywhere from 50 to 55 hours a week, and decided I would take her advice. I left around noon and headed back to the lake that so far has been pretty good to me. I did manage to upgrade my Top 5 fish for the year. I also had something happen for the first time ever. Check out the video. If you want to jump ahead, go to about 2:30 in the video. Top 5 Weight: 22-4 (4-15, 4-12, 4-10, 4-1, 3-14) culled a 2-14

You mean did I ever break off at the boat?
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

What snap? The ring on the trap that you tie to? Never had that happen and never even heard of that happening.

I have had some bad bags of Eagle Claw from Dick's where the snap loses strength, does not close, and then straightens with a snag or a fish.

. . .aaaand that's why I tell people not to cut corners. Eventually it'll cost you, usually in the most inopportune time. Say no to snap swivels, carolina keepers, etc.

That is the exact reason I don't use snap swivels.
"Life is a matter of luck and the odds of success are in no way enhanced by extreme caution." - Erich Topp, German U-boat Commander, 1943.
When in doubt, set the hook.
