I'm taking a friend out there tomorrow and some family members and we are going to try catching some flat heads at night. Then we're gonna try channels and blues in the day. Just trying to get a heads up on how the fishing is right now. I know canyon is a hard lake but we're trying to catch mainly flat heads. Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks guys!!!

I would try up around the mouth of the river. There is lot of submerged timber so you don't want to go roaring through there.
ou'll see a lot of abandoned limb lines, so there is catfishing going on in that area. The rest of the lake is a rock bottom with not much vegetation to hold fish.

I started fishing that lake this past winter.. All I've done is drift fish. I drift creek channels, the deep side of drop offs, even the boat lanes.. I pick up Blues.. Some have been decent size. Best location has been around cranes mill area.. Can't drift though the timber but I get pretty close too it.. It's an awesome lake for cat fishing and there are some monsters in there.. Last week I was out and I found them in 30-40fow... Hope this bells and good luck!

Thanks we just got here and tried night fishing from the bank at boat ramp 6 and didn't get anything. We stayed there for about 2 hours with live bluegill. Will give it a shot tomorrow around cranes mill. Thanks again

Keep us posted! I'm curious about fishing that recreational lake as well. Got to be big fish in there.
