Hey guys for those of you coming down to Chambers this weekend please be careful. I guided there back in the early 90's and the lake still scares the [censored] out of me. If you venture up the chamber's arm past the bridge or Richland arm at all you need to know where you're going. Also if you're going into Winkler stop at least a quarter of a mile out in the main like an le idle in, I saw a guy tear a new Ranger up out there two weeks ago.

I need to fish R-C soon! I've been on the water in past years but just recreational boating in a rented pontoon boat with kids.
Not sure now with all the rain, but I love driving over the bridge, what 287?, and the water looks so clean and blue, at least it did before last year's big rain event.
Nice looking lake, really big, too.

I wonder what the turnout will be? When TTT contacted us to see if we were fishing they had 100 teams

Winkler is on the South side about half way to the RR bridge. Lots of timber outside of Winkler, you just can't see it now.

They should take lodging into account when they schedule. Not griping. Just saying.

I still bet they get 200+. It's a great trail. Not their fault RC got so much rain.

I'll be there, I don't see how lodging is a major issue. There isn't many places to stay on the lake, but a lot of places within 30 miles. We are staying at oak point I just made the reservation last week and was shocked they had availability.
I don't think it will be a full 250 boat field, I think that has more to do with the current weather and the way the lake is fishing though. I'm looking forward to it, going to be a tough day of fishing I would imagine and looking at the weather forecast through Saturday the weights will probably be lower than I originally thought. Regardless of the lake conditions or weather we are going to go have a good time and hopefully luck into a limit.

One thing about it I'm only 35 miles to the lake. Get to sleep in my own bed!! And if I don't do good, I didn't have much fuel tied up in it.

The big girls are going shallow, don't let the off colored water get in your head, the fish don't care.

I wasn't expecting a trailering event given the field isn't full.
