I have a Stratos Elite 210 it is a 2012 the second to the last year Stratos produced this hull, I also had a 203 and a 206 and the 210 is better in all water conditions and has a more stable platform IMO even though I looked at new boats recently I will keep this boat. Champ owners love this brand just like Ranger owners love theirs. All preference. I would if Charger made a similar boat as Champion would have to buy it.

None of the Elite series Champions are narrow. Some may be referring to the 1990 models but Charger is reproducing the Elite series.

I love Champion have owned Mt. Home models and Tennessee models, I truly hope Charger can revive this brand with a quality updated boat. I just wish they were bringing back a 19' also, because I don't need a 21' boat. Good Luck to Charger, and I will watching to see if any other models are on the horizon.

I guess with Bass Pro (Nitro) having their new Z21 they don't need another 21 footer in their stable.

I'd rather have a minty 191 than almost anything sold ever

If you read the BBC article, it says they splashed the hull. What that means is they took a old Elite 210
and took it apart to use the original hull to make a mold. Since BPS owns the Stratos/Champ name they will
not be called ChampioNs but will be some model of Charger, This method of mold making was employed a lot back in the 70's and 80's. Nearly everyone had a copy of the famous Allison hull in their boat lineup back in the day.

I have had a cougar ftd and a 210elite next to each other. They are both what I consider "narrow nosed" compared to the new "wide nose trend" v20 z520c fx20 ect.

FTD is about as narrow as the old 1990's Champions. But I had a Cougar and a 196 Elite and the 196 was wider at the front than the Cougar. So it is not narrow but not as wide as a Legend V20 so it is an in between mid size so to speak. But a much better ride than other boats.

They are planning on bringing back the 198 and the 223 as well over a 5 year period of time according to the posts I have read. I believe they will get the 198 done next year.

Good news... I've got a 2006 Champ 198 and it has a great combination of ride, handling and fishability.

I have a 2009 210 right now. Can't say I've ever been in a boat that handles rough water as well as this boat. Yes, I get wet. If you say you've got a boat that you can't get wet in you're lying.

With all of that said, I've never ridden in a 206.I've heard by a few that it out performs the 210. The good news about this 210 is I never have to take my cap off while running, worry about the net flying out or having june bugs hit me in the face. Those guys on Rayburn in the Skeeters, Basscats, Phoenix, Rangers and so on all know me cuz I just wave at 'em as they all pass me at every take off!

Yeah they pass you when the Water is SMOOTH! BUT when Rayburn gets ROUGH is when the Champ hulls let you pass them! LOL. My old 202 was a battle ship. Slow as a Pig with my Motor but after some practice and understanding how to run rough water, it was what was needed to get back home safe on those January Bass Champ Tournaments! banana
Ahhhh remembering Classic Boats is like remembering some of the old Cars! They just don't make em like they used to!

this has been a fun thread to read. My first boat was a Used Charger. Second was a semi new Charger I got fromLarry Barnes who had a 17 plus he called "Valentine" to his credit . I run a vintage 96 191 elite I special ordered in 96. Just retired and got back into the game after raising a couple kids. I remember those nasty days on Toledo and Rayburn when my Champ went through the big stuff and the skeeters bass cats and Rangers did not dare. I Want a new boat with all the cool stuff. This might be a sign!
