How could Charger have anything to do with Champion when the Johnny Morris people own the rights to it, Ranger , Stratos Trion, and Nitro boats . Stratos makes the Champion boat from it's mold that they brought from Tennessee. They did move Stratos and Triton the other day and unless Charger people are buying Sratos I don't see how it could happen besides the boat is in their line unless they discontinued it

Charger makes a fine boat, I'm not sure what they would be improving by doing a.210 mold. Don't get me wrong the 210 is a great hull, but charger just came out with a new big boat a few years ago and I don't see why they would be scraping that platform all ready.

It's not like it wold be a big seller down here anyway, just because of the lack of dealers unless people are willing to travel a couple hundred miles to have sevice and warranty work preformed.

Charger does not have a boat under 21 feet with removable consoles. A lot of their boats are retro in looks as well. 210 is one of the best riding boats out there.

For that reason...it's a Charger. They do make a good boat, but they will never be what Champion was to a lot of people. If they can actually build a 210 with quality you used to get with Champion Boats (unlike when Stratos took over), then they should only increase in sales drastically. And if they do make it lighter and faster, but keep the integrity of the ride Champions were known for, they will hit a grand slam.

I have not ever been in a old Champion but isn't the weight part of what made the big old Champions such a hit? I have always wanted to take a ride in one of the Champions everyone talks about being the best ride to see what did make it so good. I am not sure other then the new Phoenix, no one ever talked about their ride like the guys who owned the older Champions. they must have been a great boat.

They are a great ride. The 203 and 206 were awesome and if you are lucky enough to own a 221 or 223 you have one of the best big water rides out there.

I have a 2005 198 Elite and love it. I got caught in a 30 mph west wind coming across Lewisville on Sunday coming out of the cut from Pier 121. Easily 4' swells, handled it like a champ (pun intended). To answer your question, I do believe the weight was crucial in the ride. BUT, if they can figure out how to distribute that weight better to keep the ride, but increase the top speed (just like Phoenix did, a lot of people don't know they are a heavy boat) they will hit a monsterous home run.

Everyone is talking about a narrow nosed
Boat with gas tanks in the back... Also wanting speed?? Sounds like y'all are describing a basscat.

My Champ is anything but narrow nosed and the tank is under the seat ... it is a 2005. I think when folks get the conception of narrow and rear fuel tank they are thinking of the Mountain Home Champs and the 88" beam old school boats. These were the boats that really cemented the Champion ride rep.. Champ also had hull patents that helped give those Champion the great ride and handling characteristics. Champions are also the only bass boat out there that could do the full blown 180 degree turn at WOT.

This video is really old school ... late 80's I'd guess and the older narrow Champs were the design.

If Charger has bought the hull rights from Johnny Morris well that seems to be a match made in heaven ... quality boat builder with a unique and quality design.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Have any of you actually owned a 210 elite, I have. Worst riding boat I've had yet.

I've got a 206 and love the ride but hate the fish ability. It's a trade off I guess. Ran a 210 right after they came out and like the 206 better

My 2008 210 is the best riding boat I have ever had. Stay dry in very rough water. Hope they come back,

I have a 2009 210 right now. Can't say I've ever been in a boat that handles rough water as well as this boat. Yes, I get wet. If you say you've got a boat that you can't get wet in you're lying.

With all of that said, I've never ridden in a 206.I've heard by a few that it out performs the 210. The good news about this 210 is I never have to take my cap off while running, worry about the net flying out or having june bugs hit me in the face. Those guys on Rayburn in the Skeeters, Basscats, Phoenix, Rangers and so on all know me cuz I just wave at 'em as they all pass me at every take off!
