What is the best place to maybe catch a fish without a boat around the Rockport area. I have a five-year-old that really wants to catch a fish from the coast. I'm going to be in Rockport Sunday Monday and Tuesday any pointers or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

How is the wade fishing at Goose Island? Always been curious about that area.
Usually wade fishing in POC. I have never claimed to know what I am talking about....

Goose Island wade fishing can be awesome! You don't have to go way out on the pier BTW, the first little channel is really great and I caught my personal best flounder on finger mullet right there. You can catch bait near the bridge going to Goose Island from the campground area is you are proficient with a cast net or there are multiple places nearby to buy bait. Also the fishing pier (Old Copano bridge) is awesome, the East end has a reef fairly close on the north side.
All of St. Charles bay can be very productive wading, just be careful or oysters, rays, etc.
Good luck I hope your kids catch a limit!
