Me and Buda13 made the trip to TBend wed and found it to be flooded like all of east Texas. Put in at the Indian mounds ramp Thursday to find the water muddy in all the creeks in the area. Spent most of Thursday looking for a little cleaner water to fish and didn't really find much. We had 7 fish for the day but spent a lot of time looking around since we haven't been on the lake in a year and with the muddy water. Friday morning we got the owner of Talon lures to make us some 3/4 ounce spinnerbaits and some 1/2 jigs and set out to go look for some cleaner water. First stop of the day was a creek in the six mile area and we found the cleaner water we were looking for. We ended up with 18 fish with our best 5 about 25.5 pounds. Bigger fish came on the heavy spinnerbaits fished on the outside of the hay grass. We also caught a few on jigs in the buckbrush and around flooded tree bases. Felt like we had them figured out considering they were releasing record amounts of water. Saturday we talked Andi into fishing with us and went back to the same spot. Didn't catch as many on the spinnerbaits but the flipping bite was better. Caught our better fish back behind the brush in the open spots were you could get to the bank. Jigs and black and blue craws were our best baits. Ended up with 14 fish for about 19.5 pounds with a 6.5 pounder for our big fish. Had a blast and thanks to Andi and Ivan for letting us stay with them again and for the awesome baits that caught all of our fish.

Didn't get a pic of the 6.5 sat due to the heavy rain when I caught her.

Good report guys. I was afraid you were gonna get rained out. Looks like you made the most of it.

Great write up partner! cheers

We were surprised to hear one of the guides on the lake telling people to stay home and not to get on the lake... Fishing was good, and while we did see a couple of floaters, overall navigating the lake was a piece of cake. Fishing was a little off for T Bend, but a little off for T Bend is still better than 99% of the other lakes around here. This place is magical, I dont know if I can make it a whole year before going back again!

I was there for a club tournament and was sure glad we went. Turned out to be a great time even with the challenging weather. Fish ended up biting pretty good especially yesterday for us and our tournament winner Randy Kvapil had 10 fish for the two days at 32.38 lbs and a big bass of 10.24 lbs.

You guys are taking away all my excuses if things do not go well for me later this week. Thanks a million.

Did he turn the 10.24 in to get a free replica?

No sir, released the fish right after it was weighed in.
