I noticed that with the screw threaded all the way into the hinge rod the mount is still loose. I can put a washer in the other side but the bracket is too tight and the transducer will not flip up. Anyone else have this problem?

I have attached a video. This is without the extra washer.

That is not a tension bolt. It is a shoulder bolt that is the pivot for the trip function.

The trip tension is the metal part of the mount and the indentations on the sides are what holds the plastic part in the mount and what allows the trip function to work.

Some slack is NORMAL.

If you insist on messing with the tension, you can open the mount, squeeze the sides of the metal to reduce movement and then close it. The transducer will have to be whacked harder to release.

I use this, works great. Tighten down the hdsi bracket then attach to this bad boy

The best system using the SBB-4 is this one that does not use the Humminbird mount at all: http://www.transducershieldandsaver.com/product/sbb-hdsi-combo/
