link to the rod I'm considering here- 703C: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Dobyns_Fury_Casting_Rods/descpage-DFC.html

I bought a Fury 795SB for my a-rig a few months back and have absolutely loved it. So, as I'm getting ready to replace my Texas rig rod I'm leaning hard on going with another Dobyns Fury. Just curious if anyone here has experience with it. I don't expect it to have the same sensitivity as a $300+ rod, but would be nice to hear some feedback.

Thanks!

Been testing a 703 and 704 for a few trips. To me, the initial feel is the 703 is on the light side for Texas rig rod except for lighter line, more open water. Others with more time using each one may weigh in, but I would say the 704.

Sure wish I could fish with both for a day before purchasing~ Thanks for the info sir.

I've got my TX rig on a 7' MH Falcon Bucoo now. I love it for spinner baits, but the thing just feels way to wimpy for a TX rig. I want to be able to bite back when I feel it thump.

Both will work fine with the 704 being better with heavier cover. I switched rod company's last year but I really miss the champ 703. It was great at a lot of techniques.

I actually use the 703 as a finesse rod. I have a Dobyns Champion in the 734 model and love it for Texas. rigged plastics. While in a different model I'll guess the 4 weight would be similar. I think you will love the 703 but will find it to soft for Texas Rigs.

I have the Fury 704 and it's a great rod for the price! I went with the 704 because I didn't feel the 703 would be enough for tx rigs and the 704 is awesome for t rigs. thumb

I agree also to go with the 704 if you are deciding between the 704 and the 703. I don't have a Fury but I have a Dobyns 703 and I use it for wacky rigged senko type baits and the 704 for Tx. rigged baits. They are good rods. I have the 702, 703, 704, 705, 745, 784, 795. I really like the 745 for jigs and the 784 is an awesome rod for a C-rig.

I haven't used the 703, but I have used the 704, specifically for t rigging. I was fishing heavy cover with a 1/2 oz weight and it handled it just fine. They're good rods for the price.

I love my 704 Champion for t-rigging. Easy to use all day, great balance and sensitivity. Paired with a good fluorocarbon and tungsten weights and you feel everything.
