The big bass I chase often eat craws, copperheads and just about anything black & blue so I’ve been working on a few craw patterns that match the hatch on one of my favorite cranks. Please let me know what you think. ~Blue Moon

The above shot was taken during the custom paint process before eyes, texture and topcoat.

Attention to detail is off the charts on that one. The first picture during the process gives me the heeby jeebies thumb

Since I've only recently started custom painting crankbaits, I really appreciate everyone's comments and encouragement. I've been spending a lot of time attempting to match the hatch. As a wildlife photographer I've been taking images of wild things and wild places for years so now I'm enjoying using my images for reference when I'm custom painting crankbaits.

Regarding the copperhead craw, it seems we have juvenile copperheads under nearly every leaf where I chase monster bass in east Texas in the spring. For those of you that enjoy running barefoot through the spring leaves, here’s a shot I took a few years ago. Also for anyone that ever wondered why worms with yellow tip tails tend to work well in spring and early summer, take a look at the juvi copperhead tail in my pic. Note the size of copperhead in comparison to the leaves... Tiny and a dozen more within in a few steps... That might give some the heeby jeebies...

One more craw variation I did over the weekend.

Tight lines,

Blue Moon
