I catch one on every cast below the dam during summer using rattle traps work close to the bottom. In pitch black darkness. You just gotta find a spot thats got fish.

Lights in the main bodies of water i've had success with, but trying lights in shallow water when they are spawning I have never had success with. There was never enough bait in he water for a bait ball to form, and the fish just would not bite. I could see them in the water all night ( last time I tried), never had a bite. May just be my experience, but I have never had any luck during the spawn.

After the water clears and it is not roaring rapids in your creek.

If you know where the fish are in the creek. You can fish that spot at night.Minnows fished on bottom with a split shot weight.Use your light only to see by and keep it turned off.Turn light on only when needed then off.We have caught many sand bass during the run at night.

You can wear them out under the bridges at Fork at night during the summer. All you need is a green light and it is on.
