Hey guys I have never been on Oak Creek and was wondering how the fishing was? I've heard it is decent from a buddy but wanted to see what yall thought...we have access to a lake house and thought we'd try to fish it. Spawn should be getting going this time of year. Thanks in advance!

Can be one of the nastiest lakes in Texas. That being said, a buddy of mine fished it last Saturday and said it was tough. He knows Oak really well and if he struggles out there, it is tough. He caught a 7.5 and 2 dinks. Said the fish were not spawning yet, and I can imagine with this rain they wont move up until the full moon in a few weeks. Always a chance for a giant, though.

I've been on it for about 3 days now. First couple of days I caught two fish a piece. One 4 pounder. Today I found a school of white bass and my wife who is new to fishing had a blast catching them. So we caught a bunch of white bass before we got off the water due to the rain. I'm hoping tomorrow I can catch some largemouth. The largemouth have been really finicky.

The first time I ever fished it was three years ago and I didn't have a scale but I bet I caught 5 for about 25-30 lbs. I have fished it once a year since then and have zeroed out both times. I'll be making a trip soon cause you just never know.... I haven't heard anything from anyone recently, either...
