I like the fact that they closed in the tank well behind the seat. Makes for a more solid platform for your crate and other on deck storage etc.

It also adds a ton of weight capasity. It displaces almost 2 cubic feet of water. The new weight cap will be around 425-450lbs. The definite advantage to the raptor is the hull design. It was built to be paddled, the peddles are secondary method of propulsion. We already know in a paddle race the raptor is faster than any "stable" fishing kayak, then you add the mirage drive and now your cooking with gas. There has been talk of making it work with the native drive also but nothing confirmed. Either way the g2 will be a definite spot on top of the fishing kayak class. I will have 2 so when i get them i will absolutely offer demos. Mariner Sails will have them for sale.

I was thinking of getting a Ultimate propel for river fishing. I think this may be a better option.

What is the weight difference between those two?

If weight is a deciding factor, as well as storage space (open hull design) the Ultimate should win hands down.

Christian, do you know if the G2 will come standard with the seat or will that still be an upgrade item? Can't wait for the G2 to come out. Got my money ready to give away to Mariner Sails. I'll switch my "G1" over to my buddy boat.

I couldn't find anything on the G2. Not on FB. Hate when companies post stuff on FB and not anywhere else. Not everyone is on there or wants to go on there.

The G2 sure has my curiosity peaked ... Never liked the Outback or Revo enough to drop the money on them, but this G2 Raptor with mirage drive, could be fast like a Revo and stable like an Outback. Plus the facebook page says the G2 hull should only weigh 66 lbs , has transducer slot ..

The raptor is much more stable than the outback. The g2 will have the same stability. Sck is going for the top of the peddle driven food chain. Its getting hard to sleep at night because i so excited. Ive always thought that santa cruz puts out the best multi function yaks made. There are few people with half the time and mileage i have in them, caught, i think prof salt and amanda (my girlfriend) are just about the only people with bigger catches. I have literally tested them in everything nature can offer. Amazing kayaks, dependable in any condition one would fish in. The g2 will im sure surpass the raptor in performance. I should have them for the mariner sails demo day april 30.
