Hello,
Planning to take my 6 yr old for fishing this weekend for Sandies. I used to fish way back around Rowlett creek but now its too far from my place. Any recommendations for bank/creek fishing spots around Colony, Little Elm, Frisco area? Thanks in advance.

I would scope it out before taking a youngun out. Bank fishing especially. With all this rain, the creeks are running, the banks are muddy and erosion is causing some unstable bank lines. I'd get out and walk the area that I planned on fishing to be sure it's safe. Other than that, I have heard a little bit from around old Denton highway. Those reports came before the rains though, and I haven't heard since. Will let you know if I hear anything else. With the creeks running so high the whites will be able to get over obstacles that were holding them in a certain area.

Won't target the sandie run, but The Lewisville Fishing Barge would be my suggestion for a 6 yr old. As SeaAggie mentioned, the creeks are flowing pretty good right now and the banks are slicker than snot. It would be easy for a kid to slip and be swept away.
