Trying to make it out to Ray Roberts within the week for a little fun fishing but have never been on the lake. Anyone have any info on where you can run and where not to. Thinking about putting in at Ray Roberts Marina, is it a good spot to launch from? Thanks

The marina is a good enough ramp. You can run the main lake south of Wolf Island on the east side and south of the bridge on the west side. Most of the creeks are heavily treed too, so use extreme caution. Hopefully the lake will not come up too much from this rain.

Put in at either of the ramps by the marina and you will be fine. There isn't much to worry about on the West side of the lake. The lake is pretty clear to run until you get into the mouths of any of the creeks or just before wolf island. Use caution in those areas.

fished it this afternoon, yes in the wind and mist, lake was definitely up. launched at buck creek and it looked like chocolate milk, having said that, did hook a few. just be careful if you go up in the creeks and you'll be fine, use something that makes a lot of noise and is the color red, other than that good luck.

Don't run the red if you don't know what you are doing.

Here's what not to do , I see people waiting for people to run up North so they can follow a boat up there . Some of those guys know every stump on the lake , if you're off one foot of their trail you're buying a new lower unit.

Idle into all coves, north of the island on the east arm and north of the bridge on the west arm. The rest is open.

Thank for your input guys. Adam p appreciate the map. Also I have seen in person the one boat trying to play follow the leader and it didn't work out for them out on Lake Palestine. Never a good idea.

When you see telephone poles sticking up across an area, that's the line that says be careful past this point.

Not an accurate way to go about it. There are places with no poles.

Adams info and map are spot on, if you don't know the way into any of the coves marked in red idle only.
