Do you have a son or daughter aged 13-17 who would love to spend a week of their summer learning about Marine Biology from the best in the business? If so, we hope that you please consider taking them to the Bass Brigade camp held July 6th-10th on the beautiful Warren Ranch in Santa Anna, Texas. The Bass Brigade camp is a branch off the Texas Brigades youth camp system that specializes in conservation practices in many different areas of wildlife management.
At the Bass Brigade, your child will receive a full week of instruction from the top TPWD instructors in their state agency appointed positions, Steve Bardin- owner and operator of Texas Pro Lake Management, the Texas Wildlife ssociation, and the Texas A&M ArgiLife Extension Service. Professional angler Gary Klein will be on hand all week and actively instructing all 24 cadets chosen in the art of pitching, flipping, and yes, they even get to fish in a tourney against Gary to test their skills.
Other activities include: electrofishing (both from TPWD boats and by using a rat-tail backback), fly tying, fly-fishing, water plant identification, water quality sampling, seining samples, invertebrate collections, public speaking via a Town Hall format, radio interviews, presentations, and the numerous other leadership driven activities.
I had the pleasure to work the camp last year as an adult leader, and I can attest, everything about this camp is TOP NOTCH! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for your children to learn hands-on from the best in the business! They will remember this camp the rest of their lives! And you will be attending the final day as the parent for awards and dinner with your kids. You will get to meet and greet with all the instructors, volunteers, and yes, even Gary Klein himself and his wrapped boat and vehicle.
Please take a few minutes to check out this amazing camp at www.TexasBrigades.org.
Financial assistance is available if you are serious about giving your child the best experience of their lives in a youth camp setting! The deadline for applications is March 15th so please don't hesitate and miss out on this year's Bass Brigade Camp! Two more adult leaders are needed as well. If you would like to be considered for one of those two positions, fill out the adult leader application on the website listed above for the Bass Brigade camp. Background checks will be ran on all adult leaders prior to attending the camp.
Let me know if you have any questions. If I don't have the answer, I will get it quickly and get back in touch with you.
Thank you for your time in reading about this amazing opportunity!
