To give some comparison to water being released right now, more water is being let out of Toledo Bend than runs over Niagara Falls. Amazing amount of water. All 9 gates are open 22 feet.

That's incredible. Anyone know how long it took for some level of water clarity to return after last years heavy rains?

Without more significant rain backs of the creeks will be discolored for weeks. What muddies the creeks is runoff from clear cuts along the watercourses.

South end main lake stays pretty clean. When there were the great hydrilla beds in the 90's the south end rivaled some of the northern glacial lakes for clarity.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

It came up last year about this time. It will stabilize in a couple weeks.

Anybody got an idea on how it will fish this weekend. Have had a trip planned for months. Mid Lake is where we will be. We won't mind trailering south. Would Rayburn or Murvaul be better?

I'd stay home for a few days if I was everyone. It's very serious out there right now. No need to risk anything at this point.

We've had a trip planned there for a year, headed that way Sunday morning, wondering if we need to stay in west Texas.

Niagra on average almost releases 4 million cubic feet a minute, currently Toledo is releasing 207644 CFS that's 12,458,640 cubic feet a minute. scared

I'm headed down there in the morning. I'm just going to bring an extra lifejacket.

Being a Corps lake, Rayburn can be fished with water up. It was much higher than this in April last year.
