I'm about to buy my first saltwater reels. My dads Penn's have worked great so I'm just buying those for myself. My question is whats the best line size, type(braid, fluro, copolomer, etc), and if color matters. Mainly, I'll be going for trout and redfish, but wouldn't mind running into a tarpon either. Thanks.

Thanks everyone for your help. I've decided to go with Power Pro. bolt

Power Pro is what I use on all my spinning reels. I add a bit of either 20# to 30# mono leader for top water or 20# - 30# fluorocarbon for sub-surface stuff.
