Have friends coming down and they want to go fishing. What do y'all think with all this rain? Where to fish and is it possible to still see them on the beds?

I wouldn't be worried about any sight fish. It will most definitely be muddy and stained at best. I'd concentrate on the spawning areas with Tx rigs, weightless flukes and paddle tail swimbaits like a skinny Dipper

Throw something brown. Seriously I would target deeper fish. Good Luck

Lake is flooded right now also. Still coming up even with gates open Sabine reports at 1830 today 404.28 403 is full. So be careful where you go.

Headed back tomorrow, will try to remember to update you guys on water color and temp. Gonna throw big baits looking for one bite! Not sure how much we will be able to fish with the storms coming in, but going to swing for the fence when we can!

Don't worry about sight fishing. Throw in high percentage areas where there should be beds and you'll find out if they're there. If so just target the same areas through out the day without getting up on them in murky water they are actually more spooky

If the gates are open I would pick another lake.
She can be unforgiving in those situations.

They are open and probably will be at least through the weekend. The water by my place in Big Mustang is almost up to the high water mark left by the last flood.

I've never done worth a flip when they're letting water out of the lake. It seems to turn them off for me but you may know something I don't. LOL

Give ya a little optimism here... Few years ago fishing Fork and faced similar weather conditions such as this week. Rain, front blew through, releasing water and falling water temps and decided to go out anyway. Decided we give an hour or so before we packed it in. Ended having a great morning and catching one close to my PB which was 10.5. All fish were up tight to the banks in 2' of 48 degree water. Crazy! I have plans of being at Fork for a few days starting Sunday afternoon and I'm going for it.

If there was a tournament, I bet there would still be big fish weighed in....

Forget the green fish, I'm looking for those white perch... LOL.. I'll tell you this if you find crappie the bass are real near by... I was catching everything that swims last weekend on minnows in 18-24" inches of water...
I'm still going to focus on 3 foot or less tomorrow thru Sunday... swimbait trials... nuts

Lake is at the bottom of my pier, and rising. Might go over the deck again...
