Any updates ? fished upriver at night under lights with no luck .. Snakes On the move again ! Fished coves but not much luck on minnows and jigs. where are they ? Looks like the steps are maxed out with trucks on whites .. Rain coming .may slow em down more ?

I have had mixed-bag results with swimbaits for the whites on the eddies near the steps so far this year. All have been small and isolated bites though. Where the crappie are is a good question. Locals seem to have the best luck seining for minnows in the river if you are using live bait.

The crappie are there; they are just holding in certain areas. The fish are aggressive, so ditch the minnows.

What are you fishing with? And where are you finding them in relation to the San Gabriel/ 95 / Steps?

Wrong area I believe, fish shallow.2-5' at Willis just outside the cattails/weeds is where I would try,you want to fool with whites, stay on the Gabriel. Not sure about night fishing from bank. They are spawning now. Goodluck
