Awesome story. I'm not a HS boat captain yet cause we've only got 2 teams, I have taken one of our HS team members pre-fishing back in February and we are planning on pre-fishing Ray Roberts this Friday. Hopefully things workout next school year with another team.

better be ready for teen boys! some tend to be too smart for their britches, and some have parents worse than the boys. I tried it and backed out after ba 14 year old told me I didnt cast correct and pitched a hissie fit when I didnt let him drive!.

but on the brighter side, I was in when it first was formed, since then they weeded out the bad eggs, now I understand there are sharp awesone fishermen. Pittsburg team is having a tournament April 2nd on lake bob sandlin, a fundraiser for the teams so anyone who can fish it please do, it will be at the 21 bridge landing 7-3

What's the entry fee? Do I have to sign-up or just show up?

What about the parents who are paying guides to be boat captains?? I know there were several out at Squaw.

You should name names and turn them in if you are going to bring it up. If not, nothing will get done about it. It is illegal. It is in the rules.

3. PURCHASING OF INFORMATION • Boat Captains, Coaches, Parents, Advisors and participating student anglers may not solicit, receive, purchase, or barter for information about locating or catching fish on tournament waters, including GPS way points 14 days prior to any THSBA tournament. In addition, during the 14 day “no information span” no competitors will be permitted to practice or gain assistance from anyone for the purpose of locating or
catching fish, except a teammate, coach, advisor, family member or other person entered into the same event. Any violation of these rules may result in disqualification. This rule will be presented as a question on polygraph. The hiring of a guide as a Boat captain is also not permitted, unless they have not guided in the past 30 days.

Completely against the rules to hire guides as captains that have guided in the previous 30 days.
