You sir, and I live in the same town and apparently we have the same luck when fishing at Canyon. I struggle to figure out why I keep going back.

I have been having excellent success whites and some blacks using umbrella rigs around the mouth of the river and along main lake points using Berkley Ripple Shad, Keitech Fat Swing Impact and River2sea Rig shad... As for crappie upriver has been real good on live minnows.
Black bass nothing better than a texas rigged watermelon red brush hog, wacky rigger redbug trick worm, Duo Lipless crankbait...

Don't get in a hurry going up it, there's some HUGE lower unit removers up there.

Lol, those guys love their fillet knives. It's bound to be the reason as to why the fishing always sucks.

It appears that some are learning to not post reports any more on lakes that are fishing decent.

Loaded up the last few days on white bass upriver using live minnows and a Berkley Ripple Shad Mini Rigs. Those umbrella rigs and ripple shad are deadly.

I am on my way out there later today I have also heard some good reports. I have used those umbrella rigs and the 2.5'' ripple shad with good success but you cant beat an umbrella rig rigged with large minnow they tear it up

Went all the way upriver today, caught 4 males whites, 4 females whites, all very nice size at the rapids ( along with 1/2 dozen under size males). Was fishing shiners with one split shot in the eddies. Not easy fishing, but they are up there. Going back tomorrow.

Just wondering how far up the river the sandies will work since there is plenty of water this year? Do they make it past Rebecca creek Rd? Or past 281? I am a newbie in the area so would appreciate any tips on the sandy run.
