Alright guys- I've been hearing about this Sandy Candy fly and I'd like to try tying up a couple. Does anyone have any pictures? I've heard it's similar to the Moreau fly?

Red/Pink thread, jig head, crystal flash?

I did a search on both google and bing. The only thing that I came up with is a steelhead fly that mooks nothing like a Moreau fly. From you description of materials sounds like a straight up Moreau fly. I tie Moreau flies with Florescent yellow body and pearl crystal flash tail on 1/80oz #10 jig heads. I also tie up a pearl version using the same Jig head, small pearl chenille body, pearl crystal flash tail and use either red or gray thread. They have been working great for me. If you come up with a picture from someone else post a picture.
No name fly just came up with it. crystal wooly bugger with out the hackle.
Red Moreau Fly

Looks good you will catch fish on them but it will produce more fish if you put more flash and make the flash longer

Thanks for the tip. Do you have a picture of what you're talking about?

That one is 1/80 and my favorite size but you could do it on 1/64, 1/80, 1/124 me and my buddy the last 2 times caught over 100 on that lure

Sweet !!!

That's the kind of flies I like. Ones that catch fish.

Thanks for sharing.

About as simple as it gets. Dang things seam to work a lot better on One Creek in particular than others and that's not saying it doesn't work at others.ive seen your dad wear them out in a few places with them.
