Wanting to take the wife and some friends fishing in a couple weeks. What would be a good lake, within a couple hours drive of dallas, to do some sandie fishing and what do you think they will be biting? Been a while since ive been out sandie fishing in the spring time. Thanks guys.

Rowlett creek. Park at bike park. Throw small flukes or curly tails (white or chartruese) on a 1/16-1/8 jighead, rapala xrap xr06 clown or minnow color. Rooster tails and Firefox inline runners 1/16 or 1/8 on those too. Good luck bro!

By the end of March, I would guess you could go to just about any of the major Lakes in the DFW area and catch a bunch of Sandies. Our Lake (Richland Chambers) seems to always be a little behind others in regard to when the action picks up, but a few Whites/Hybrids are already showing up. (Last year, it was the first week in April when the good bite was on) Cedar Creek, Hubbard, Ray Roberts, Tawakoni, and Lewisville in no particular order would be my best recommendation. Take a 1 oz. Slab in Silver or Chartruese ( www.rsrlures.com)and you're in business. Doesn't hurt to have some Sassy Shads, Rat-L-Traps and Tail Hummers/Humdingers in the tackle box in the Spring. Good Luck and check us out at www.gonefishin.biz for Richland Chambers info!
