I was wondering on your opinion on the different baits out there I normally am a cheep person when it comes to hard baits but I read and article today on here about yellow magic popers and I want to get serious about tournament fishing so what baits do you recommend and what is the price range and that goes for any hard bait like I said I normally hunt the barge bin

Based on your broad question I am guessing that you have very little bass fishing experience. You will need to get serious about catching bass first so you will have the skills to compete in tournaments instead of leaving it all to chance and throwing away a lot of entry fees.

Your question is still too general. What type of hard bait are you wanting to know about? Lipless, square bill, mid depth crank, deep crank, hard jerk baits, hard top water baits, hard swim baits, etc. it goes on and on. Then you have all the different colors those baits come in and you haven't even touched on soft plastics yet.

You have to be more specific with your question.

If you are a bargain hunter and getting more serious about bass fishing, I'd recommend joining Lucky Tackle Box Pro/black or Mystery Tackle Box Pro/black for six months. Find what you like and have confidence in. Then go to overstockbait.com and purchase similar baits. Many of the online fishing stores like APT and Tackle Warehouse will have sales July 4th weekend. By that time you will know what you like.

I am new I have been fishing tournament off and on for the past 10 years I don't get a lot of time on the water I just moved to Tyler from Las Vegas and just got a boat so I have been trying to figure out what works out here with the little time I get to go out I read a post with a guy was asking about yellow magic popers and all of the replies said they out fish most other poper baits so I was just trying to get an idea on any other baits that work well like that

Well if you like crank baits the H20's from Academy work well and they are inexpensive.

Yellow Magics do work well but they are not inexpensive.

Still got to be around fish no matter how much the baits cost. You could take cheaper equipment and give them to an experienced fisherman and he will still catch them. Quality baits are just tools. Just like boats, electronics, etc.

I have a buddy who has won a good bit of money on the H20 squarebills when they first came out. He hasn't fished many tourneys the last 3-4 yrs. though. Bottom line is, they are good lures with decent hooks already on them. Hard to beat them for the price IMO.
