I would like to know if anyone here has ever fished for Sand (White) Bass in the Nolan River near Blum TX. My dad used to fish there but he cannot remember about when they run, I checked the Texas Parks and Wildlife about it they state Spring (March-May). (https://tpwd.texas.gov/publications/pwdpubs/media/pwd_br_t3200_0022e.pdf).

I have been combing through old threads about this (Like this one; http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/4530453/Nolan_River_Park) and have looked at Austin Kayak Fishing Forum (http://austinkayakfishing.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11997)

I'm Looking for something recent. Does anyone know anything? or am I just not googling correctly?

Thanks for any help

They are catching some right now but not real steady, the last rain and cold front slowed em a bit

Yes they still run there every spring the water levels dictate the location and numbers of fish but they will be there.

Went thursday afternoon. I could see schools of fish moving around, but I couldn't get a bite. A few guys with waders on caught a few. Game warden was waiting at the road checking fish and licenses.

Let's have some fun!

Went Friday Morning 3/4/16 launched the boat down the road by Arnold Crushed Stone. (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Arnold+Crushed+Stone+Inc/@32.1354306,-97.4358825,15.25z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x864fb550b4fd6bf5:0x4070ed4a30f0e056)

It was perfect weather (in the morning) but no fish. We fished the river till noon and only heard about one catch that day. There were lots of boats on the water and people bank fishing. Wind got up after 12 water was white capping. It must be too early or we already missed it.

Should be getting better every day. The rain will hopefully bring more fish in and get those that are in more active. I'm thinking about 4 days after the rain stops this week. Time will tell.
