Fished from 130ish to dark and about two hours before dark we finally found a cove with grass, bait and feeding bass. We had around 10 or so on wieghtless watermelon flukes fished almost dead slow 1-5' Worked the area with jigs without a bite for about 30 minutes but noticed shad flicking the surface and broke out the fluke and started to get bit. Just ran out of daylight or could have put together a nice pattern. Found 68 degree water. Did not see any bedding fish but suspect there were some on beds. Did see one male up shallow trying to start the fish we found were chasing bait and busting the surface occasionally. Biggest from today.

Took you a while, but glad to read that you finally put it together and boated some nice fish. Congratulations - she's a pretty one!

Good job man. I watched the shad flicker for an hour before dark, but all I could think about was Robbie Rose "flickering shad pattern" and kept flinging a jig. We caught a fish yesterday that had already spawned. Yes, I have a pic

Didn't even think of a fluke...but...weightless made sense all day. That's a toad. We got on a good big fish pattern but barely missed the over mark

Thanks guys! I can believe some may have spawned already in some areas water has been warm enough for a while. But believe the big wave is just happening as I sit here about to mow lawn and do chores today.
