I have decided to avoid buying the Evinrude and now it looks like I will soon be the owner of a HPDI series 1.

I know the low pressure fuels pumps need to be replaced. I have also heard that I need to replace the VST screen. I also figure I'll replace the water/fuel separator. May also want to replace the fuel lines. Anything else I need to look out for while I'm in there?

It should have the Series 2 upgrade already. You have made a smart decision IMO. Had my Yamaha for 19 years with zero major problems. Don't use cheap oil, Yamahalube or Amsoil synthetic. I used Amsoil for the whole 19 years, zero carbon buildup.
