Trying to upgrade on a budget. Got a million questions and not finding what I want by flipping thru threads...

What's the difference between the gen 2 touch and the elite ti?
Would one recommend Lowrance over HB?
I have HB at the moment (1198 and 958) I like them, just want something to draw out better. I've read and tinkered and just don't like the picture.
I like the helix but you can only interlink one the 9, 10, and 12 and obviously upgrading on a budget means smaller screens (fine with me). I'm not even sure if I need them linked... Just looking for experiences and opinions suggestions ect.
Thanks in advance

Gen2 vs elite, biggest difference is lack of Ethernet on the elite. Gen2 will share a single map card between 2 graphs, hold 5,000 wypts and a few other things that my brain can't remember right now.

Are you looking at the elite that has the Totalscan transducer with it? It sounds like a good graph, just can't Ethernet them. They can use nmea, it's just not as good as enet.

I saw a chart somewheres the other day that had all the differences, I'll see if I can find it.

Here a starting point.

This one compares the elite HDI but it's pretty similar to the TI, different transducer.

If your running one at the bow and one at the console, you have two transducers and they will share waypoints over Nema2000. That's all ya really need. To even touch the elite Ti for the price point with anything else you have to either buy used or a Humminbird. The rumors are starting on an elite Ti 9... That would be the ultimate for me.
