This morning I had my first venture outside of my usual neighborhood ponds to fish. I drive over this beautiful creek all the time so I went to go try it out.

WOW! So much much fun! It was a good hike to a few of the spots up the creek, but so worth it. I caught my fist fish on a fly that I tied, got to sight fish and catch a decent sized largemouth, caught a few perch, and saw some pretty large carp cruising but they wouldn't take the flies.

Such a blast! I've got to find more places like this around the metroplex.

Nicely done sir! I have a couple of creeks close to my house that I drive over every day. I've been giving them the eye a lot lately but just don't seem to make it happen. But, that's about to change, thanks to your post.

haha I feel like I"m gonna wreck whenever I'm driving now because I'm constantly looking over my shoulder to check out water passing under the road.

This is in Grand Prairie

Great job! Looks like an awesome, healthy creek. I have creeks several like that that I absolutely love to fish. I'm the same way too when passing over bridges - always have to see how the water is underneath!

As a DFW Employee, let me assure you and everyone else reading this..... You Do NOT want to get stopped for trespassing on Federal Property.

You likely have a pocket knife of some sorts right? or a filet knife in your tackle box? Just think about where you are and who is going to come get you. There is no other group that has the heightened and supported authority than the DPS & TSA.

Every inch of the 18,000 acres - even the Golf Course Ponds and Bass Pro Shops surrounding wooded areas are under multiple means of surveillance.

We can't even go roaming around without a valid reason, there are things lying around out there - from when accidents occur you're not supposed to "Find."

Be careful, be very very careful.
