The rain scares more fisherman than it does fish. Just go fishing.

Hard to beat a chartreuse/white chatter bait with magic shad on rainy days.

I love a light to moderate steady rain, it often makes lethargic fish aggressive targeting baitfish who have moved up in search a of more oxygenated water supply.

Right now I'd concentrate on slower moving quieter baits during steady rain conditions, weightless flukes, slow moving swim baits, sliders and glide baits and shallow no-knockers in the upper third of the water column near known bedding areas. If that wasn't productive I would target bedding fish who have already moved in and are in protective mode.

According to the Shreveport NWS we're supposed to have a good chance of flash flooding, severe weather, and 5-8 inches of rain. I like to be optimistic as much as the next guy, but if we get that much rain a large portion of our lakes will be mudholes and it's really going to screw up most people's fishing. Will there still be fish caught? Of course there will, but it's not going to be the fish catching slugfest we would have had with these water temperatures if we didn't have to deal with high, muddy water.

I LOVE fishing in the rain. It's quiet, everyone goes in, and the fish just keep biting.

For the record too, I've seen the forecast, you can guarantee it's being overestimated. I'm sure we're going to get a LOT of rain, but I severely doubt it'll be almost constant for a week. Maybe for a day and then scattered stuff after more likely.

Keep your focus on the fish and not the rain. You will do fine.

With the warm run off on Monday/Tuesday, I'd start shallow. I'd fish any mudline where clearer water meets the muddier water from run off. Baits/lures--whatever you have confidence in that water depth/this time of year/wind.

Normally when it's raining its low light conditions... Do you change your diet when it's raining outside? Just go fish your strengths. This time of year you will probably do well no matter what those strengths are. Beats working I know that!

I'm just worries about local lakes getting flooded again and becoming crappy! Hopefully it doesn't dunk on us to much
