I have a leak in my Sea Ark and can't find it. Will need to get the boat lifted off the trailer. Anybody know who does aluminum boat repair around Fork.

Longview ain't terribly far. And the main propellor shop there does EXCELLENT work with welding aluminum boats.

Choose your aluminum welder wisely, typically aluminum boats are not made of the better quality aluminum alloys and can be tricky to weld especially if contamination is a factor on thin material. A not so bad problem can quickly turn into a big problem due to poor welding on aluminum. If a shop is using a wire feed ("squirt") welder on a boat I'd walk and find somebody with a heliarc ("tig") and knows how to use it.

Put the plug in and fill it with water.

Brian, I thought of that, have yet to do it. It will be my next step. Problem is, if the leak is under one of the trailer pads, it will be hidden. I will try it anyway sometime when the trailer is dry. Been fishing a lot lately, so it hasn't dried out. Tough problem to have I know.

I hope I found it. As Barry advised, I put the plug in and filled with a garden hose. I found a couple of leaks in the screw holes where I had put a transducer bracket on the bottom of the transom.
I no longer use a transducer there, but the bracket holes were leaking. Must not have gotten enough silicone in them.
Removed the bracket and filled the holes with J B Wet Weld. This hopefully takes care of the problem. If not, I will explore the welder recommendations.
