Hello catfishing friends! Going to White Flint Park for the weekend with some friends, was hoping to get a few tips. I am bringing my boat and some fresh live perch from my tank. I will set a few juglines out but would love to catch some on rod and reel. I plan on throwing the cast net Saturday morning for some shad. I have downriggers for hybrids also and some of the guys want to catch some crappie. Any tips or tricks would be helpful and appreciated.

Crappie are at houseboats at cedar ridge. Whites are up river past iron bridge. Not sure about cats still a little early for me.

I wouldn't say that being on any lake is a waste of time. You must spend time on any lake to learn it and Belton has its days, good and bad, just like any other lake including Waco. Chasin mason you've got the right idea and in the right area for catfish but I can't help much on hybrids or crappie

buddy of mine takes his grandkids there and they do good on cats. He uses CJ's shad punch bait for rods and his jug lines he uses fresh cut bait and shrimp. Good luck this weekend and let us know how ya'll do.

Had 16 box fish on punch bait today. To catch fish you must put time in on that body of water.Plenty of fish are in Belton you just have to put your time in on the water. My time on Belton started in 1958.

Hey guys, thanks for all the help and encouraging words. We had a great weekend on a beautiful lake and in a awesome campground. It was good fellowship and great food! Highly recommend this campground. This was a guys trip but I would bring my family anytime. Ended the weekend with 15 catfish between 1-6 lbs caught on juglines using cut perch, the heads defiantly produced the best.
Thanks again, Richard

For hybrids go across from BLORA or over by McGregor Park. For the catfish go between 36 bridge and Winkler Park. Belton is not a waste of time if you know how to fish. A great lake.
