I have always been a Lews fan, mostly run the BB2 Inshore, and I have handled the LFS and Mach I, I don't think you could go wrong with them. However, seeing the bargain on the Aird at Gander Mountain, I ordered 2 of them yesterday. I have played with them before at the store, and they felt real good for a $80.00 reel, but always decided to go with what I know. At $40.00 a reel and then the $15.00 rebate, I couldn't hardly see any harm in trying a couple for $25.00 ea.

None of the Lew's you mentioned are under $100 though. The speed spool and some of the Laser line is however. But not the BB2 or Mach 1. LFS is just a general term for their newest series.

Gander Mountain also has the Exceler on sale for $59 down from $99 another solid reel for under $100. Most other reels under $100 have graphite frames which are prone to flexing won't find many others that offer solid aluminum frame for that price!

I know the BB2 is well over $100.00, but the Mach 1 and LFS can be had on Ebay and Amazon all day long under $100.00.

Tatula's can also be found for under $100 on ebay. But not everyone uses or likes ebay. I however love ebay lol. I think I have bought every single one of my reels off ebay and have paid no where near full retail for any of them. Don't know why anyone would still pay full retail for a reel actually. Instant gratification I guess

I guess..Lol. I always check Ebay, a lot of times if you were prepared to spend say $150.00 for a certain reel, you can get the next step up for near that price versus full retail. I'm anxious to try the Aird out and see how it is.
