Myself and Mike(USMC-GY) fished the Guadalupe River and both the Bluegill and Crappie bite are starting to pick up. We fished from 9:30am till 1pm and caught some Crappie and a bunch of nice fat Bluegill. Fish were caught in 7 to 10 feet of water holding close to docks. The Crappie were caught on jigs (Chartreuse/pink in color) and the Bluegill were caught on both jigs and worms. Bottom techniques were used. We ended up keeping a few of dinner! After catching a bunch we had a good lunch at the Sub Way in down town Marion. A super late winter Bluegill,Crappie bite on the Guadalupe River. It just don't get any better. fish

Side Note: Love fishing in your area. Cibolo Nature Park and Boerne City Lake are two very good fisheries. Plan on fishing them a few times this year. thumb Also love that Fritzes Bar B.Q. food

This year my plan is to target those bigger gills especially those big shellcrackers! Those lil guys are sho nuff bullies!!!

Katchin krappie...doin surgeries(filleting)...and givin hott grease baths until krunchy and golden brown is what it's all about!!!

Great job guys!!!!!

You inspired me to try out the ponds since they are usually a couple weeks ahead of your creeks. The bite is really picking up. I even caught fish on the fly rod and top water popper this weekend.

We hit medina lake Saturday, caught some nice 8" gills with their war paint on. We fished two different feeder creek areas and caught some in both. 10'deep casting towards bank and brush stickups. A few short bass were lively as well. Cork and on bottom using night crawlers. Amazing afternoon. Kids had a blast
